Finally finished these layouts from a class I took at CKC 2008 taught by Piggy Tales.

The colors didn’t come out quite right from scanning. The left page is a darker and deeper color compared to the right page. Hmmm, kind of frustrating I’ve spent over 3 hours trying to fix it.

This is the second layout I finished from Layle Koncar’s class from CK Scrapbook Convention I took.

Reads:

[A-qi-qah] In Islam, this is a traditional celebration for announcing the birth of a child. It also involves the sacrifice of an animal in gratitude to God. On this day, the name of the child is announced and the hair is shaved. It is suggested to perform the aqiqah on the 7th day after the child’s birth.

Your aqiqah was held when you were about 5 months old and your name Humza Nasir Aziz was announced even before you were born. Humza means lion and is also the name of Prophet Muhammad’s uncle. It is considered to be a very strong name. Nasir is dad’s name and it means protector and helper. Aziz is the name of you great grandfather and it means might, strong, illustrious, highly esteemed, dearly loved, and is one of the names of Allah. Your name is supposed to be spelled Hamza but we changed it to Humza because we don’t want people to pronounce is as Ham-za.

Uncle Imran was the one who shaved your head and you were just so well behaved. You didn’t fuss or cry until when you got sleepy, so then we took a short break. After 10 minutes, while you were asleep he finished shaving you. You looked so cute with a baldhead. Dadi was here from Pakistan to celebrate your aqiqah. She cooked lots of good Pakistani food for our friends.

It is such a blessing indeed to have you in our lives. You just give us so much joy and happiness and it sure is going to be a fun ride along the way.

Finally finished this 2 page layout. This was from a class I took 14 months ago taught by Layle Koncar from Scenic Route from a CK Scrapbook Convention here in Seattle. Layle was a great fun teacher and I really enjoyed the class. We did 4 two-page layout in two hours and of course as a perfectionist that I am, I didn’t finish it all in class because I’m always finicky with things I do. Tada… here it is now.

One very hot summer afternoon, we decided to walk to the lid park because our little house on First Hill was like an oven. It was about a 20-minute walk to and from the park. We had such a nice time walking and hanging out. Both of you enjoyed playing and running around the play area. It was so cute to watch you both play and interact with each other. Zak, youa re such a great big brother to Humza – you help him get around the playground.

I enjoy the little things and simple time we share together. I love you both!!!

Summer 2007

I volunteered to create the 5th grade yearbook at Zak’s school – West Mercer Elementary School Class of 2014 and here are the layouts I did…

This is my jumpstart workshop projects with a Spring Theme. The workshop was a lot of fun.

These are random photos. Nasir and Humza (taken on June 2005). Zachary (taken on January 2005). Humza (taken on May 2005). Nasir and I (taken on September 2003), which is actually our Wedding picture.

These photos were taken during my first trip to Pakistan last October 2002. We visited Shimla Hill, located in Abbotabad a nearby view point gives a birds eye view of Abbottabad town. The views were just amazing!

Happy Halloween

This is Zachary’s 2nd Grade Class Halloween Party. Zachary is the Shadow Ninja and Humza is the Little Ninja (the little sidekick). This is the make and take card that Zak created. He wanted to make sure that Humza would be in the picture with him since it is Humza’s first Halloween. What a sweet big brother.
